Region E records highest number of active Covid-19 cases in Joburg
JOBURG – The region includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

The Gauteng Department of Health confirmed that the sub-district of Region E has recorded the highest number of active Covid-19 cases in the City of Johannesburg as of 20 August.
The region, which includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, recorded 1 999 active cases.
The sub-district has confirmed a total of 13 275 cases and 11 103 recoveries while 173 people have lost their lives.
Also in the northern suburbs, Region B recorded 621 active cases of Covid-19.
The region, which includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North, confirmed 8 842 cases and 8104 recoveries while 117 people have lost their lives.
The Johannesburg district has recorded 7 653 active cases, 312 of which remain unallocated.
