The WOS network is helping women find their voice in business

The Woman of Stature (WOS) network is expanding their presence in the business space with a first of its kind business directory.

In an intimate launch at the Sandton Sun hotel on 19 February, CEO and founder of the foundation and network, Charlotte du Plessis said she aimed to stimulate and make the economy more inclusive for women.

“We are finding that women are generally disregarded when it comes to certain things but especially the choice of suppliers within businesses. “Many of our members and even I do, get so frustrated because you’re trying to get to the decision makers but there is just no way.”

She added that the core objective of the directory was to become a go-to avenue to find credible and professional suppliers for decision-makers.

“We want to show people that we are still human, we still love human interaction and human touch. The little directory is of such a size that it can fit anywhere and be anywhere for such a lovely go-to.”

A bi-annual publication, Du Plessis added that as much as technology was leading the way in media and marketing exposure, she wanted to stay traditional.

“The reason we did it in a print format is that believe it or not there are still many people who are old school, who enjoy to touch and feel of something. We don’t want to fall into the digital media trap of only being visible if someone goes onto their smart device because you know you can get lost there.”

Bridging the gap, Du Plessis added that the next one would be ready for distribution this spring.
