Parkmore Community Association thanks the community for their help in 2021
PARKMORE – The association addressed how their highlight of the year was having the community come together to show their support.
The Parkmore Community Association (PCA) took the time to share some of their finest moments of 2021 which made them stronger. The association strives to make an incredible lifestyle for all of its members and community.
Expectations are always in the mindsets of organisations, people and associations. For the Parkmore Community Association (PCA), their expectations for 2021 was to grow as one community with the help of their hardworking and dedicated staff members.
The association addressed how their highlight of the year was having the community come together to show their support. This came when a challenge was thrown at the association whereby they were left with only three volunteers which made things a bit overwhelming. On the bright side, it brought the community closer as over 30 residents stepped in to help out the PCA.
Members of the community and the association were able to assist and provide for residents who had no means of essential services due to water issues and the theft of cables.
Other highlights which the association added to their 2021 was the celebration of Halloween at Shandonway Park and the children’s read-along scheduled every Tuesday with Parkmore resident, Zandile Shinta.
The association extends its gratitude to the suburb manager, Lori Klein, for the effective work of handling water issues in Parkmore and the PCA board for their dedication and hard work over the past three years.
What the Parkmore Community Association looks forward to in 2022 is to further assist their community on issues, concerns and to continue to build a strong relationship with them.
“The year for the PCA has been stable despite the obvious effects of the pandemic. The prudent financial measures the PCA has taken over the last three years has allowed us to function normally. Unfortunately, infrastructure issues have plagued us this year and the dedicated effort of our Suburb Manager [Lori Klein] has helped the suburb cope with this,” concluded the chairperson of the PCA, Dr. Danny Pillay.
