Hope for local salon

HYDE PARK – Local hairstylist Yvonne Diogo can finally breathe a sigh of relief as her Hyde Park salon is able to once again welcome clients with the help of the TRESemmé Salon Programme.

Local hairstylist Yvonne Diogo can finally resume operations at her Hyde Park salon with the help of the TRESemmé Salon Programme.

The programme, which was launched in 2019, aims to improve and transform the haircare industry all while changing the narrative of entrepreneurship.

Since its launch, it has championed over a thousand stylists, providing them with valuable business and practical skills to change their lives – especially during the pandemic.

According to the brand’s latest report, it has invested more than R8 million to ensure that over 240 salons nationwide have been able to receive infrastructure, haircare products, branding, advertising materials, personal protective equipment and sanitisation.

Diogo, who was one of the fortunate salon owners to be included in the programme, said it was a great blessing for her and her salon during this difficult time.

“My team and I were able to resume operations in August [last year] after months of no income and cash flow because of the pandemic. Without the products TRESemmé supplied, opening my salon again would’ve been difficult,” she said.

In an effort to reach for salons in need, the haircare brand has further invested R5 million on an annual basis towards the salon programme.
