Petticoat Day great success in Morningside

MORNINGSIDE – The one-day event saw the ladies dress up in the best outfits and according to MMC ladies bowls captain Lynda Paige, they did not disappoint.

It was a day of fun and laughter at Morningside Country Club (MCC) as it hosted its much anticipated Petticoat Day bowls tournament.

The women took to the bowling greens in their bright and colourful outfits on March 21, giving it their best. This year’s theme for the one-day event was Red Letter Day.

According to MMC Ladies Bowls captain Lynda Paige, the theme did not disappoint as an array of bumblebees, hillbillies, hippies and so many more joined in on the excitement.

“It was fantastic to see the ladies out on the greens and having fun on again, especially for Petticoat Day. About 110 ladies participated and they really had a great time despite the miserable weather,” said Paige.
