Club runs and time trials on the go for RAC
Local running club invites the community to hit the streets with them at one of their various runs during the week.
What better way to get fit and have fun at the same time, than by joining in Rand Athletic Club’s various runs each week.
A host of time trials and club runs across a range of distances keep everyone on their toes.
Club secretary Vreni Welch explained that the 5km and 8km time trials are well attended on Tuesdays at 17:45.
“This is a great run to use to wind down after work, or to see improvement if you are building your fitness and bettering your times,” Welch said.
The club runs on Saturdays at 06:00 and Sundays at 05:00 see runners use one of seven routes, each week.

These are around 21–25km long but runners can turn off the set route to cut it to 15km or even 8km.
Two further training runs at 05:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays also appeal to social and serious runners alike.
“Anyone is welcome to find out more or join us, we are a very friendly group,” Welch concluded.
