Morningside family-house burns down

A house in Morningside was reported to be in flames at approximately 05:00 on April 30

First responders attended to a residential home that was engulfed in flames.

A house on Flamboyant Avenue in Morningside was reported to be on fire at approximately 05:00 on April 30. Chief operating officer of Medi Response, Saul Behrmann, with his team arrived at the scene five minutes later.

Community emergency responders arrived from across Johannesburg to assist in extinguishing the flames.

“We were notified through a call in the early hours of Saturday morning [April 30] that a house situated in Morningside was on fire. We quickly went there and managed to extinguish the flames. The team left around 08:15 after making sure that the all fires were extinguished,” said Behrmann.

FireOpsSA had a major hand in helping to control and end the fire, he added.

The cause of the fire is still been investigated by officials. No serious injuries and fatalities were reported.
