Armed robber gets 15-year sentence
The offender, along with two other men, robbed a victim of their cellphone in Atholl on July 16, 2020.
A 28-year-old man was recently convicted by the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court and sentenced to 15 years in prison for armed robbery.

According to Bramely Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi, the victim was also stabbed during the robbery.
“It happened that the victim came across a security patrol vehicle and alerted them. A search was conducted in which the accused was arrested and detained at Bramley Police Station.”
The accused, at the time, was denied bail during his trial and kept in detention until he was convicted.
“He was sentenced to an effective fifteen years in jail with no option of a fine. Bramley SAPS management is happy with the outcome of the case.”
