No tears at Bryanston Primary School

It was their first day and they were bold, brave, and keen to learn at Bryanston Primary School.

Schools re-opened officially across South Africa on January 17, and the learners of Bryanston Primary School (BPS) were brave as gladiators braced for whatever lies ahead.

There were no tears among the 120 Grade 1s who began their journey to academic success this year. A total of five classrooms have been designated by the school for the process of developing these first-time big-school pupils into well-rounded human beings.

They will also have a scheduled period dedicated to learning how to play chess, which excited a few of the learners upon realising the opportunity to also learn the board game in a classroom.
