Voting is a fundamental right and a cornerstone of democratic societies worldwide. As a country, we will be voting on May 29.

Voting is an act that empowers individuals to participate in shaping the future of their communities, the Sandton Chronicle went out and asked residents if it is important for people to vote in big metros like Sandton.

Michelle Schwartz: This is our future and people must have their voices in the plans so, yes it is important to vote.
Glynne Wolman: I think people should vote everywhere because without their votes we can not change anything.
Sharon Vardi: If people want to have any say in their future, they need to take responsibility for it by voting.
Darryl Bennett: People need to vote because if you are unhappy about the status quo, then voting is an opportunity for one to change things.
