Rivonia High SPARK School sets the bar high with memorable first sports day

The sports day at Rivonia School provided a platform for learners to showcase their talents, build friendships, and foster a lifelong love of sports.

Rivonia High SPARK School recently set the stage for a thrilling display of fitness and camaraderie as it hosted its first-ever Sports Day.

The event, held on the school grounds, brought together learners, teachers, and parents to celebrate sportsmanship and competition.

From the beginning of the school day, the air was electric with anticipation as learners geared up for a day filled with various sporting activities.

The day started with an inspiring opening ceremony, where the assistant principal for scholar social workers, Kavisha Govender, delivered a motivating speech emphasising the values of teamwork, perseverance, and fair play. This set the tone for the spirited contests that followed, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the participants.

“Three sporting codes – hockey, netball, and soccer –are diverse and welcoming so our scholars can find their potential sport and, of course, maintain learners’ physical well-being, which is vital and instils discipline, perseverance, and teamwork.”
