A special moment was had for the MCC Match Fuddle Puckers, who one of their members passed away tragically while saving a close family member from drowning earlier in the year.
The awards categories included most improved players, top goal scorers, players of the season (per team), team spirit, commitment to hockey ‘under difficult circumstances’, and goalkeeper of the season.

“A huge congratulations to all of you, and I hope today represents something which we can all aspire to, especially for you guys on the younger side of the age spectrum,” said MCC’s hockey club chairperson for 2024, Andrew Duff.
An undeniable truth about hockey at MCC is that the club’s got a strong culture for hockey which spans across generations.
“I think it’s very important to just understand how tonight speaks to the quality [of hockey at MCC. It speaks to the quality of our players, and it speaks to how hockey goes all the way through, and it allows people who put in the hours to continue representing at the highest levels.”
