International Women’s Club of Johannesburg celebrates year end with a Christmas lunch

Women from all walks of life were brought together at the International Women’s Club of Johannesburg's annual Christmas lunch at Bryanston Country Club to celebrate the season of giving and friendship.

The International Women’s Club (IWC) of Johannesburg had a Christmas lunch at Bryanston Country Club on November 19 as their year-end function and friendship celebration.

This festive gathering brought together dynamic women from all walks of life, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie that has become the hallmark of the IWC.

The event, which marked the culmination of another successful year for the club, featured an array of dishes that delighted the guests.

The club’s president, Joanne Conrad, expressed her enthusiasm for the event. “This Christmas lunch is not just a celebration of the festive season, but a heartfelt reminder of the friendships we’ve built throughout the year.

“At our club, we strive to create a welcoming environment where ladies can come together, share their passions, and form lasting connections. You walk in as a stranger, and you walk out with friends!” Conrad said.

From Bridge and book clubs to Mahjong and a travel club, ladies find plenty of opportunities to explore new interests and connect with others.

The club’s commitment to fostering friendships and personal growth is evident in its diverse activities, including the monthly speaker series and various themed clubs, where ladies can bond over shared hobbies.

The club’s first vice president, Una Rowlands, said, “Our club is a place where every woman can find her niche, whether it’s bonding over a game of bridge, discussing the latest bestseller in our book club, or planning an exciting travel adventure.

“The Christmas lunch is a perfect illustration of what we stand for: Celebrating together, building friendships, and supporting one another as women.
