Morningside-based businessman a keynote speaker at Women of Wonder Awards
A businessman believes that if we continue to uplift and empower women, the journey towards a brighter and more equitable future is possible.
Honoured and privileged to have been a keynote speaker at the Women of Wonder Awards on August 5, at the Maslow Hotel Sandton, Zareef Minty described the moment as ‘magnificent’.
The Morningside-based businessman and Forbes 30 under 30 list maker got the opportunity of a lifetime to be one of the trusted guest speakers who spoke in front of more than 100 businesswomen.
Minty drew an imaginary picture of the event and said, “The gathering was one of the top-notch events where we celebrated the remarkable achievements of women who have shattered glass ceilings and pushed boundaries in every sphere of life.”
He added that he was humbled to be part of this momentous occasion, where people came together to recognise the incredible contributions of women to the world.
“As we gathered there, I got reminded of the power that lies in diversity and inclusivity – not only the responsibility of women to uplift each other but also the duty of every one of us, regardless of gender, to create a world where everyone can thrive and succeed.”
Minty explained that women have faced countless challenges throughout history, yet their determination and resilience have prevailed.
“It is essential that we continue to break down barriers and cultivate environments that foster equal opportunities for women in every field, and as a businessman, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of empowering women in the workforce.”
He highlighted that diversity brings fresh perspectives, creativity, and problem-solving abilities that drive innovation and success, and when women are given the platform they deserve, the collective potential knows no bounds.
“I firmly believe that when we invest in women’s education, mentorship, and leadership, we invest in the future of our communities, businesses, and the world. We must strive to create workplaces and societies that embrace equality, celebrate achievements, and ensure that every voice is heard and valued.”
He again congratulated all the Women of Wonder award recipients and especially mentioned his business partner, Norma Mngoma, on their remarkable achievements, adding that their success serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration to countless others.
“As we applaud their accomplishments, we must continue to commit to paving the way for even more women to achieve greatness in the years to come.”
