Joy of Jazz set the Sandton Convention Centre abuzz

The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival once again took the city by storm, bringing together an array of African and international musical talents under one starry night.

The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz returned on September 29 and 30 with exhilarating experiences for music lovers to feel the jazz at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The festival took place across four main stages.

The Dinaledi stage was headlined by Grammy Award winner Swiss harpist, Andreas Vollenweider with Ayanda Nhlangothi, Vusi Nhlapo and Vuyo Tshuma on vocals.

The Grand stage featured trumpeter, multi-band leader and composer, Marcus Wyatt and KwaZulu-Natal-bred guitar maestro, Ernie Smith.

Standard Bank’s head of brand experience said, “We have been a sponsor and partner to the Joy of Jazz for over 20 years, and are immensely proud to be affiliated with an event of such high quality. Since its inception in 1997, the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival has provided a platform for African artists to join the world stage along with global icons.”
