Meet Carol and her super-friendly companion Peggy
It was love at first sight when Peggy met Carol.
Any market day experience is incomplete without crossing paths with a hyper-friendly canine enjoying its best day.
Carol Honiball’s Africanis companion, Peggy, was the friendliest attendant at this year’s Sandton Sports Club Spring Market on October 1.
This was the ideal opportunity to learn more about the pet and her owner.

Honiball shared that she met Peggy on September 25, 2021, and it was love at first sight. “She was the best happiness that came into my life. We did the adoption through Woodrock at Keith Kirsten’s nursery, where they had a set-up every Sat and Sunday.”
Honiball accurately describes Peggy, who she regards as her ‘daughter’, as having the most amazing personality. She is nine years old and even does tricks. Her favourite pastime is walking.
“Peggy loves her walks every day to all the surrounding parks, and even lets the little kids walk her. She also knows when I put her bandana on she’s going out.”

Peggy’s favourite place for a walk is Chardonnay Park in Hurlingham Manor and her favourite treat is biltong. “So funny to see her reaction,” said Honiball. “She goes crazy when she even gets a sniff of it in our house.”
Peggy is undoubtedly a part of the Honiball household, and the family also takes her on holidays with them. “Peggy has enjoyed a good holiday to Clarens, and she loves the car and, of course, all the attention. We still want to take her to the beach.”

Honiball added that she wishes to have many more years ahead with her best friend, Peggy.
