Respect JMPD over this festive season

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla encourages community members to respect JMPD officials working tirelessly over the festive season.

JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla has issued a stern reminder to Sandton residents to remember the importance of celebrating responsibly and looking out for one another over the festive season.

Fihla also reminded us that although respect for JMPD officers was crucial throughout the year, it was especially important to exercise the same respect during the holidays when officers were working tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community.

“Please treat our officers with courtesy and understanding as they are working hard to keep you and your loved ones safe,” said Fihla. “It’s important to note that respect goes both ways, and officers need to respect the community they serve as well.”

He also cautioned motorists over the holidays to avoid distractions such as using cellphones while driving.

“On behalf of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.”

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including speed limits and road signs.
  • Buckle up and ensure all passengers are properly restrained.
  • Do not drink and drive.
  • Be patient and courteous to other road users.
