Mocktail Movement is breaking down barriers and fostering inclusive social gatherings with its innovative blend of mocktails, dance, and community spirit in Sandton.

Field and Study Recreation Centre in Sandton recently played host to a game changing event, Mocktail Movement, poised to revolutionise the way society thinks about entertainment.

This innovative celebration of healthy living, dance, and mocktails brought together like-minded individuals in a vibrant atmosphere that was anything but dull.

Luxe`Pro Events founder Valerie Tuge Mabena said the inspiration behind the Mocktail Movement stems from her own personal experiences with anxiety and depression, coupled with the challenges she faced in the events industry.

As someone who had to forgo alcohol due to her medication regimen, Mabena felt a void in the social scene; one that she’s now filling with her pioneering initiative.

Ballet Dance & Entertainment founder and director Gugu Keswa.

“We’re breaking down the stigma surrounding non-alcoholic events and creating a space where everyone feels included, regardless of their drinking preferences. At the Mocktail Movement, we’re not just serving mocktails; we’re serving a community that values healthy living, dance, and connection,” Mabena said.

The Mocktail Movement was a resounding success, with attendees raving about the unique blend of dance, fitness, and mocktail-making workshops.

Ballex Dance & Entertainment founder and director Gugu Keswa said: “We had an amazing session at mocktail madness, fusing dance with mocktails for fitness and healthy lifestyle. We started with dance and I took ballet and made it easier and fun for everyone to enjoy.”

One of the event attendees, A-iesha Rubidge, who is expecting, said: “I am excited to be part of this event, especially as I am not allowed to drink cocktails because I am pregnant. It’s nice going outside meeting people and doing some fun things together.”
