According to Erlo Duncan, the coordinator of the JHR, their duties ranged from managing registration and logistics to organising water stations. “Some rangers helped with pre-registration and race-day administration, while others were on the ground setting up tables, sorting drinks, and ensuring smooth operations.”

He added the day of the race, they woke up at 03:00 to man water stations and assist runners, even navigating delays caused by elephants blocking the road. “After the marathon, the junior rangers helped pack up equipment and restore the venue.”
