Routine maintenance starts on M1 and M2 motorways, continues till October 30
Johannesburg Roads Agency has begun routine maintenance on key sections of the M1 and M2 motorways, with lane closures expected to cause traffic delays until the end of October.
Routine maintenance is currently underway on the M1, northbound and southbound, between Grayston Drive and Shakespeare Avenue Bridge, and on the M2, eastbound and westbound, from Lower Germiston Road to Main Reef Road.
Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) wishes to inform road users that the maintenance will continue from October 9 until October 30.
Lane closures will be in effect from 09:30 to 15:00 during weekdays, and from 07:30 to 16:00 on weekends.

Traffic delays are expected along the M1 and M2 sections during the maintenance period.
Motorists are advised to plan their journey, exercise caution on the roads, and reduce their travelling speed for the safety of the maintenance teams and other road users.
