The inaugural luncheon was more than a gathering; it was a movement. Women came together not merely to attend, but to speak, connect, and create anew. The Divas Repartee provided a sanctuary of dialogue, dignity, and discovery, celebrating women’s voices in all their vibrancy.
In her address, Mpumlwana said, “At a time when women’s voices are often too subdued or simplified, The Divas Repartee emerges as a clarion call to unity and purpose. It is an invitation for women to gather, not to be spoken to but to speak, not to compete but to connect, not to conform but to rise.
“For generations, women have carried the stories of others in silence. This is where we reclaim the microphone, where our truths, our wisdom and our collective power take their rightful place in the narrative.”

The day’s programme was elevated by the presence of celebrated actress and activist Florence Masebe, whose courageous story of survival following a rain of bullets 26 years ago captivated attendees.
Masebe reframed tragedy as testimony, saying, “Whilst people may see a dot on the page, that dot is the beginning of your life’s canvas where you may draw and drive your own life and ambition. The dots on my page once stood as my bullets; now they stand as reminders of resilience.”
Her message underscored the importance of community in healing, with her tribe of friends and family serving as pillars of support and inspiration. Delivered with warmth, humour, and hope, her narrative transformed personal trauma into a celebration of survival, solidarity, and feminine strength.
Throughout the luncheon, conversations flourished, opening doors to collaboration, creativity, and shared purpose.
Mpumlwana reminded attendees of the transformative power of dialogue.
“Hey Diva, conversations are movement, a gathering of power that becomes the momentum of transformative action and celebration.”
