Tigers return to Sandton Sports Club
PARKMORE – The local cricket club can once again call George Lee Park its home grounds since November 12.
The Sandton Tigers Cricket Club makes its return to the Sandton Sports Club.
The local cricket club can once again call Sandton Sports Club its home grounds, since November 12, after the club’s management and the sports club put pen to paper to make the coveted deal possible.
According to the club’s Jeremy Meiring, the Tigers always had plans to renew its agreement with the sports club. “I was going to call them to set up a meeting but they beat me to it, asking about our whereabouts. It’s a wonderful facility that has a lot to give both on and off the field.”

Meiring added that the sports club always had an interest in wanting the cricket back at the facility. “It will add more value to what they can offer to their patrons and increase their membership with new cricket members coming in,” he said.
The Tigers got to try out the pitch at the Sandton Sports Club on November 20 when the club’s Saturday five-team took on Roodeport Cricket Team.
While the team lost by 17 runs, the Tigers fought till the end.

Meiring hopes that the club will grow its memberships and sponsorship as it now has two top-class facilities – Hyde Park High and Sandton Sports Club.
