Johannesburg North’s future cricket stars hit sixes at Africa Cup

The Africa Cup concluded with a series of nail-biting finals, showcasing the top young cricket talent in Johannesburg North.

The Africa Cup Cricket Tournament concluded thrillingly on March 9, with intense matches that kept both players and supporters on the edge of their seats.

Held in different schools in Johannesburg North from January 19, the tournament showcased the rising talent in local youth cricket, with the following teams emerging victorious in their respective categories: Hero Sports claimed the U9 trophy, Randburg Raptors Blue took home the U13 platinum trophy, Randburg Raptors White triumphed in the U13 gold category, Stallions emerged as U11 champions, and the Vikings were crowned U10 champions.

Sydwell Ndlovu, the host and organiser of the Africa Cup, said: “The competition, which brought together cricket clubs from Johannesburg North, was a true testament to the passion and dedication of the local cricket community.”

He added that the spirit of cricket is always alive in Johannesburg, and sports are an integral part of our culture. “We are extremely thankful to the teammates, opposition, and everyone involved who ensures that cricket is played and enjoyed by these aspiring pro cricketers. Without their hard work and dedication, events like this would not be possible.”
