“Technology reminds me of a spiritual conspiracy. It drowns out God’s voice, causes chaos in families and keeps you from the important things in life.”
This is how Brad Huddleston, an international speaker, summed up the side of technology that most people choose to ignore, in Potchefstroom last year. The evangelist, with degrees in Computer Science and Bible, is returning later this month, with chilling new insights.
Huddleston has spoken to tens of thousands of youth and adults in conferences, public and private schools, churches and retreats and is a frequent guest on radio and television. The owner of Brad Huddleston Productions, a full- service multimedia production company, is also the founder of Brad Huddleston Ministries, a non-profit organisation dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. He teaches multimedia courses and is the author of The Dark Side of Technology: Restoring Balance in the Digital Age.
On the Sundays of 17 and 24 May, Brad will be at Duet Church. At 09:30 he will address adults only because he is going to elaborate on pornography, an alarming problem, even in primary schools. The 18:30 service will be directed at students and teenagers. He will be doing a presentation on The Dark Side of Technology in the Cachet Theatre at 18:00 on Monday, 18 May. He will be covering topics on internet safety, mobile phone safety, cyber-bullying, excessive texting and/or gaming, pornography and brain rewiring.
At 19:00 on Friday 22 May, he will be speaking at the Bible Baptist student meeting. During his stay in Potchefstroom, Brad will once again visit Gimmies, Ferdies, Volkies, Laerskool Mooirivier and Baillie Park and homeschooling learners. In June last year, you could hear a pin drop in halls where hundreds of gobsmacked young people drank in every word.
Those who missed him last year should make a point of diarising the above dates and times.
