Man shot and killed in his home

“I quickly ran from the bedroom to the kitchen where I saw Moabi fall down. Everything happened so quickly. I ran out to go and call for help.”

SHARPEVILLE. – Moabi Setlhabane (35) was last week killed when he was shot in the stomach at his home in Vuka.

According to his girlfriend Mpho Matshidiso(19), Setlhabane was getting ready to go to bed after they had supper. “It was late at night when we heard someone outside screeming Moabi’s name. At first he was reluctant to go out, and he only called out to ask who they were. They however continued to sream his name as if they were in trouble and in need of assistance.”
Matshidiso says that as soon as Moabi oppened the door, the culprits shot him and then fled the scene.
“I quickly ran from the bedroom to the kitchen where I saw Moabi fall down. Everything happened so quickly. I ran out to go and call for help.”
Matshidiso adds that when she came back, she saw that Moabi’s intestines were oozing from his wound and the bullet that he was shot with was discharged from the bullet hole.“I will always have that picture in my head. I don’t understand how people can be so cruel. Moabi has two children that he loved dearly and he had just started a new job last week,” Matshidiso wept.
Sharpeville Police Spokesperson Captain Attie Loate confirms the incident. “A suspect in this matter has been arrested and charged with murder.”
