Panga-wielding robbers met their fate when they were arrested within eight hours of allegedly robbing a 30-year-old woman in Ext. 6 at 02:00 Sunday morning.

Three of the five suspects, aged 18, 20, and 23 respectively, were arrested at 10:45 on Sunday and will appear in court. According to Const. Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, the victim alleges that she was on her way home from a tavern in the early hours of Sunday morning. On her way home, she encountered five men carrying pangas who immediately started searching her.
“They pushed her around. One of the assailants threatened her with a panga and took her handbag before they fled,” Trom said. Later that day, a neighbour came to the victim’s house and said the police were looking for her in connection with the robbery. “She went to the police station and found two of the attackers. Her belongings were also handed over to her,” Trom reported.
