The body of a man believed to have been in the Klip river for some time was recovered earlier today (22-10-2016).

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth reports that paramedics were alerted earlier today about a body in the river in Henley on Klip.

Upon arrival paramedics found the body hooked by a tree branch. The body had then dislodged. Paramedics and Midvaal Fire and Rescue used a rubber canoe to get to and retrieve the body.

The man is believed to be about 30 years of age. It is believed that the man could have been in the water for at least two days.

The cause of death will be determined with a post mortem.
