20 patients taken to hospital after bee attack at school

VEREENIGING. -ER24 Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth  reports that  20 patients have been treated and transported to hospital  after they were stung by bees at a school in Van Riebeeck Road in Vereeniging this morning.

“ER24 paramedics and other services are on scene. It is believed that a bee nest was disturbed while maintenance workers were cutting grass at the school.

“All patients including staff and children, were assessed. At this stage it is understood that at least two patients are in a critical condition. The rest of the patients are in a minor to moderate condition.” Harduth concludes.
