Taxi rolls injuring 23

VAAL MARINA. - ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring reports that 23 people were injured this morning, several of them critically, after a taxi rolled multiple times off the R54 in Vaal Marina.

ER24 paramedics, along with various services, arrived on the scene and found and found the taxi lying some distance away from the road. Most of the occupants from the taxi were found lying next to the roadside.

Meiring says, “On assessment, paramedics found that 23 people had been injured, several critically.Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to Sebokeng and Kopanong Hospital for further treatment.”

“It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll multiple times and eject some of its occupants. The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.” Meiring concludes
