ER24 reports that two people were killed and one man sustained minor injuries when two cars collided on the R501, about five kilometers outside of Carletonville this morning.

At approximately 03h00, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a man and woman had been ejected from one of the cars. They were lying about 15 to 30 meters from the car.

Paramedics assessed the man and woman and found that nothing could be done to save their lives and they were declared dead on the scene. A man who sustained minor injuries was treated by other emergency services on scene and transported to a nearby hospital.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
