BEDWORTH PARK.– Thozama Ndzingi was recently forced to drive more than 823 kilometres from Umtata in the Eastern Cape to Bedworth Park in Vereeniging due to his hijacked house.

Ndzingi apparently left his house in the care of an estate agent who then left the house with a tenant. Ndzingi was asked by the community members of Bedworth Park to quickly come back to Vereeniging as his house was perishing daily and those occupying it were suspected of being involved in illegal activities.

The tenants were apparently conducting house parties at the house on a regular basis.A community member said, “These kids were seemingly operating some criminal activities.” Upon Ndzingi’s arrival at the house, he nearly fainted as the house was apparently full of cellphones, ipads, and knives.

“My house had broken doors, windows, stove, nothing showed that people were living in it. They just destroyed my house,” said Ndzingi.

Vereeniging police spokesperson, Captain Fikile Funda confirms that a case of malicious damage to property has been opened and that investigations are ongoing.

Ndzingi said he has moved back into his house and that the ‘hijacker’ moved out since police managed to intervene on the matter.
