SEBOKENG. – A Sebokeng family will have to pick up the pieces after they lost their mother Martha Mofokeng (63) and another family member Malesedi Moeletsi (3) who both succumbed to their injuries after their house in Zone 6 burned down recently.

Caroline Moeletsi (44) says that she does not know what caused the vicious fire that  quickly spread out, destroying all their belongings

“The fire started in the bedroom where my mom had been sleeping with some of her grandchildren.  The fire then spread to the rest of the house. Luckily, my brother and sister were able to get everyone out of the house.”

Caroline adds that five members of the family were rushed to hospital.  Since this happened; the family have lost two loved ones. “We are heartbroken and we don’t know what we are going to do. This is something we never expected.”

The family has since asked for the help of the community in helping them rebuild their home again. SANCO Chairperson for ward 40, Mpho Nkitsing says, “I would like to appeal to business owners and the community at large to please assist the Moeletsi family with material for roofing, painting and furniture as well.  Anyone who can offer help to the Moeletsi family can call Nkitsing on 0735048659.”
