Four killed, 13 injured in head-on collision

Four people have been killed and thirteen others sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate after a bakkie and a light motor vehicle collided.

ER24 reports that Four people have been killed and thirteen others sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate after a bakkie and a light motor vehicle collided on the corners of Mamre road and Kerria Ave in Atlantis in the Western Cape last night.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 00H00, they found the Metro EMS already in attendance. Upon further assessment, they found three patients in the light motor vehicle who sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival. One other person was found to be in a critical condition but unfortunately, shortly afterwards he succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

“Thirteen others, among them children, sustained minor to moderate injuries. ER24, as well as Metro EMS, transported the patients to hospital for further medical care.The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but police and local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
