One trapped in collision between three trucks

Gauteng: At 11:46 yesterday (Tuesday) morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R21 direction South just passed the Flying Saucer interchange.

Reports from the scene indicate that three trucks were involved in a collision.

The driver of the second truck was found to have sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise him while Fire and Rescue Services used the Jaws of Life to free him.

Due to the nature of the patients injuries the Netcare 2 specialised helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the man to hospital for further treatment.

All necessary authorities were on scene.
