Vaal music group shines on Kyknet show

VEREENIGING. – The group Sedibeng Arts Ensemble, popularly known as SA Ensemble made up of three members, recently broke all barriers when it garnered the 4th spot in the popular TV show Maak My Famous on Kyknet.

The group, consists of three members, Donald Moropa, Kabelo Lekgau and Moratoa Nhlapo. Their unique sound which they have dubbed ‘Pop-ra’, an infusion of the genres pop and opera presented in a melodic way is what won the hearts of South Africans during the showcase.

The group was entered into the competition by a fan, Charles Van Niekerk, who loved their sound and decided that he would like to see them shine on the Kyknet stage.

“We were performing in one of the joints in the Vaal, that is when he took a video and sent it through for Maak my Famous.

The group attributes their success to hard work and dedication. “We are constantly practicing because we have to make sure that our voices improve.

“We need people who will be able to see our vision and work with us to make it a reality. We also welcome people to come on board with sponsorships.”
