Taxi and bakkie collide leaving twelve injured

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the man seated inside the taxi had sustained serious injuries while eleven others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

VEREENIGING. – ER 24 reports that twelve people were left injured and one of them seriously when a bakkie and taxi collided on the R42 Barrage Road in Vereeniging this afternoon. 

ER24 paramedics along with the Emfuleni Fire Services, arrived on the scene to find both the bakkie and the taxi in the road. One man was found lying inside the taxi while several others were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the man seated inside the taxi had sustained serious injuries while eleven others had sustained minor to moderate injuries. The patients were treated for their injuries, and the seriously injured man provided with pain-relief medication, before they could be transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
