SHARPEVILLE.- Community leader and struggle icon Ntepe Ntepe, the father of the 47-year-old woman whose decomposed body was found at Masakeng just outside Sharpeville on Friday, says that he will not rest until the killer/s of his daughter are found, locked safely behind bars and the key is thrown away.
The decomposed body of Dorcas ‘Boseke’ Ntepe (47) was discovered by family members who searched for her after she had not shown up for approximately nine days. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the father said that his daughter was not one to not call or visit the family for a number of days, hence they became worried and went to look for her at her residence in Masakeng.
This was where they discovered that members of the community around the area had also not seen her for a number of days and her shack had been locked from the outside.
Ntepe said that a horrible smell and flies coming from the shack made them realise that something was amiss inside the shack and that is when one of the family members removed one of the corrugated iron (zinc) from the shack to gain entrance and the ghastly discovery of a dismembered and decomposing body of the deceased was made.
Ntepe said that her daughters’ body was found with a plastic over her head and her hands and feet had been bound together. Her stomach had been ripped open and maggots had already been feeding on the body, indicating that she had perhaps been dead for a long time. The deceased is said to have been staying with a jealous boyfriend, who had on numerous times been physically abusive to her.
She is said to have wanted to leave him and made several protection orders against him that he did not adhere to.
Ntepe said that the deceased had told the family on several occasions that the boyfriend, an ex-prisoner, had promised to kill her if she leaves him.
“My daughter was killed like an animal, what we discovered there can never be removed from our memories. I want whoever has done this to know that they can run but they cannot hide. Justice must take its course,” Ntepe said.
Following the discovery of the nearly decomposing body the Sharpeville Police and the forensic personnel were called to the scene.
According to Ntepe no one has been arrested and the police have, since the weekend, never come back to the family regarding further information on the case. The whereabouts of the boyfriend are also not known.
“All that we want is justice and nothing else. I want the killer/s to know that their wish has come true.
“The boyfriend should come out of wherever he is and come and answer to this. He had been threatening to kill her and now his wish is done.” Ntepe said.
At the time of going to print Sharpeville Police could not be reached for comment.
