EVATON.- Policemen and women are human too!
This was made obvious when the Evaton Police Sector 4 Manager, Captain Chabalala reunited a lost child with her mother during the ‘Black Friday’ mayhem last week. The child had been separated from her mother at the Evaton Mall. Police Spokesperson Aubrey Moopeloa said that the 4-year-old child was separated from her mother in the mall and she was handed over to Chabalala who made every means possible that she was reunited with her mother. “A good Samaritan handed the child over to Captain Chabalala and we used a Public Announcement (PA) system to locate the mother who was still in the mall.”
Moopeloa said that soon after the announcement the frantic mother was informed by other shoppers that her child had been located.
“We are urging community members to please take care of their children and want to warn them that they should always know of their children’s whereabouts, whether it is at home or when they go shopping.
“There are ‘vultures’ out there who prey on young children and do horrible things to them and even kill them.”
The child was safely handed back to her mother.
