WATCH: Gauteng cement truck ploughs into over 15 vehicles

More than 15 vehicles have been destroyed in a horrific accident after a truck carrying cement jack-knifed while travelling down Doreen Road in Ruimsig Tuesday afternoon.

The corner of Doreen and Malcom Roads, outside the Ruimsig Shopping Centre was cordoned off by emergency services as they dealt with the catastrophe, Roodepoort Northsider reports.

According to Roodepoort Northsider reports from the scene indicate that the truck driver ignored the 5 ton road signage on top of the hill and decided to travel down the steep road.

It is also reported that it failed to stop at the top traffic light and struck the first vehicle before plunging into other vehicles as it slid down the road. A number of patients were transported to hospitals.
