Decomposed body found floating in Vaal River

THE BARRAGE. – The Barrage SAPS is investigating an inquest after a decomposed body was found floating in the Vaal River on Wednesday

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Simon Mofokatsane reports that police received a call from a resident residing at Mullersrust. “Mr Esterhuizen alerted the police that there was a body floating in the river.

“On their arrival to the scene, Water Wing Warrant Officers  Wikie Swart and  Hermie Rossouw retrieved the body from the river. On further inspection, they found that the body was that of an African male, they also found that the man’s feet were tied together and that his hands were also tied from the back.”

Mofokatsane urges anyone with a missing African male family  member to contact the Barrage SAPS urgently 016 987 6720.
