ELM to provide informal traders with permits during Covid-19 period

The ELM said that all informal traders selling essential goods will be able to apply for trading permits.

SEDIBENG. – The offices of the Emfuleni Local Municipality’s (ELM) Local Development Department (LED) will from Monday April 6 open its doors for all informal traders to apply for temporary trading permits.

This follows the announcement of a change in lockdown regulations by CoGTA minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma this week. The ELM said that all informal traders selling essential goods will be able to apply for trading permits. These permits will allow the traders to trade during the twenty one (21) days of the country’s lockdown due to the strain of Covid-19.

The permits can be obtained from Monday’s to Friday’s (8:00-15:30) at the ELM’s LED offices at Vaal Gate Shopping Center in Vanderbijlpark or at the ELM’s Environmental Health Offices at their Houtkop offices in Sebokeng.
