Sedibeng Health Department ensures safety on N1

“We were there to also make sure of the readiness of our people about moving to Level 4 and also ensure that the spread of Covid-19 is contained."

SEDIBENG. The Chief Director of Sedibeng District Health Services, Canada Matsaneng, the management and his team of Health Services personnel and law enforcement officials ensured that the spread of Covid-19 is curbed during a roadblock on the N1 Highway between the Free State and Gauteng Province over the weekend.

A police officer is screened during the roadblock on the N1 over the weekend.

This, they did by conducting screening and testing of people that were entering and leaving the Gauteng Province as all incoming traffic was screened and potential suspects referred for testing.

Matsaneng said that the aim of the roadblock was also to ensure that all other stipulations within the regulations were adhered to and in accordance with the Covid-19 directives.

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members were also screened at the roadblock over the weekend.

“We were there to also make sure of the readiness of our people about moving to Level 4 and also ensure that the spread of Covid-19 is contained, in particular within the incoming traffic.”
