Life will be still the same after lockdown: recyclers

The pair provide for their families with the money from recycling.

BOIPATONG. – Life was tough before the lockdown, and it will remain the same for these women after the lockdown.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster recently two women, Tiny Tladi (52) and Phumzile Mkhwanazi (40), said that they depend on recycling scrap material, bottles and plastic to support their families.

The pair provide for their families with the money from recycling. They told Sedibeng Ster that life is difficult for them because they must wake up in the morning to be first to go through people’s rubbish so that they can make some money.

“We collect boxes, plastic bottles and sell them to the big recycling companies. Even though we don’t make a lot of money but at least we can buy food for our children. For us life will be the even after lockdown because this is how we have survived for all these years,” said Tladi
