Police show compassion for injured animal

The De Deur police and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) Sector 2 recently showed sympathy when they helped an injured wild animal, a Serval cat.

DE DEUR. – Yes, their work is about law enforcement but it surely goes a long way than that.

The De Deur police and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) Sector 2 showed sympathy when they helped an injured wild animal, a Serval cat, in their policing precinct recently.

It is said that while doing their routine patrols on the road between R82 and the forth road next to Apple Orchard the members, Constables Tumane Mokoena and Constable Themba Ntshangase spotted the injured cat. The pair immediately called some of the neighborhood watch (CPF) members for assistance. The members, Steven van der Walt and Irvin Parkes helped to rescue the animal and rushed it to the station’s veterinary clinic at Three Rivers where it received treatment and was later transferred to Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary for further treatment.
