The email reads as follows: “It has come to VUT Management’s attention that some students are either pawing or selling the laptops that the university has recently handed out in order to assist them with the tools to access online teaching and learning to salvage and complete the 2020 academic year. ”

“The university condemns this behavior in the strongest possible terms and management would like to warn those engaged in such acts that there will be serious legal implications and subsequent consequences against them.”

“Students are reminded once again that the laptops have been given by the university on a loan basis and there is a contractual agreement with the university. All those students who will be found to have sold the property and to no longer have it in their possession will face severe legal action. ”

“Management is appealing and pleading with all VUT students to cooperate and work with them in these trying times.”
