R80 000 newly stolen furniture retrieved in Sebokeng

The recovered items were stolen during a business burglary in one of the furnisher stores in the Vanderbijlpark Central Business District (CBD).

VANDERBIJLPARK.- A suspect, known to the police, is at large after police received a tip off from a community member about stolen goods being delivered to a house in Zone 12, Sebokeng, last week.
Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that the SAPS Task Team converged on the address and recovered about R80 000 worth of stolen goods transported by a suspected taxi, hired for this purpose.
The recovered items were stolen during a business burglary in one of the furnisher stores in the Vanderbijlpark Central Business District (CBD), in the early hours of the morning of last Tuesday. The items included four flat screen televisions, three hi-fi speakers, one computer case and a keyboard.
Makhale said that the suspect was later followed to his workplace, but he had already fled.
“The known suspect to the police is still at large. The efforts and quick response of police in following-up the information, will always motivate the community to put trust to men and women in blue.”
Police appeal to anyone who might be knowing the hide-out of the suspect to immediately report to the nearest Police or SAPS Crime Stop 08600 10111 or SMS Crime Line at 32211.
Makhale said that all information provided will be treated with serious confidentiality.
