Man dies in mob justice

It is said that the suspect was pretending to be selling steel-wool in the area.

BOPHELONG. – A 27-year-old man died after he fell victim to mob justice in Muvhango, Extension 16, Bophelong, last week.
It is said that the suspect was pretending to be selling steel-wool in the area, when he was caught red-handed stealing from a house in the neighbourhood. Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that police are investigating a murder case. “Police attended the scene and found a body of a 27-year-old man. He was identified by the police as Mokete Mthombeni. He was surrounded by bricks, and sticks were also found near his body.” Makhale said that police do not condone mob justice.
“Police are pleading with the community to not take the law into their own hands by assaulting and killing a person,” said Makhale.
