According to Mr. Sjoerd Douwenga of the business, the robbers threatened his staff with firearms and locked them in the back of the shop.

The robbers then stole the day’s cash from the cash register, as well as the entire stock of exclusive vehicle batteries.
The value is estimated at least R200 000. The staff could not see the color or make of the robbers’ vehicle, but heard a vehicle sliding door open and close when they loaded the stolen items into it and drove away.
It was probably a panel van or minibus.
According to Douwenga, his staff was traumatized by the events, but fortunately no one was injured.
