VANDERBIJLPARK. – A case of murder and house robbery is being investigated by the Vanderbijlpark Police after an alleged intruder was shot and killed in a botched house robbery in Rossini Boulevard, Vanderbijlpark yesterday. Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said that the owner of the house was watching television when he heard dogs barking ,he then heard noises from the burglar door and he screamed to alert whoever was at the door that there someone in the house but the intruder/s continued  to break the wooden door. “He then ran to his bedroom to get his 9mm firearm and on his way back he saw four unknown men who were in the house and armed with a firearm. The men approached him and he started shooting. The intruders tried to escape but one of them was shot and killed at the scene,” Maxambela said, adding that on  arrival at the scene police found the deceased facing down with red and black gloves on his hands with a bullet wound on his right thigh.
