MEYERTON. – You can never beat the arm of the law! A suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Meyerton on Tuesday. According to Police Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Tshegofatso Maliehe, the Meyerton police received a tip-off from the Midvaal Control Room CCTV Camera about a White Ford Ranger that was reported stolen in Potchefstroom and spotted in the vicinity of Meyerton. “Warrant Officer Dreyer and Sergeant Wiese followed the information and recovered the vehicle at a Pick & Pay in Loch Street, Meyerton. As they searched the vehicle, and the suspect, they found him in possession of unlicensed firearm and live ammunition,” Maliehe said. The suspect was arrested and detained at Meyerton holding cells on the charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
